New Bento Tools from Japan

I was very sad when hb couldn't be in Spore for CNY but I was happy too cos hb managed to get some new bento tools for me from Japan. Although he couldn't get the stuff I wanted on my list, he got some others and that is good for me.
Nori seaweed puncher that can make many faces, Anpanman rice moulds, animal picks and a bread sealer (put fillings in the centre of bread and cut with this and it will seal the edges so that the filling will not spill out)

Jim Jam Jammer!

Recently, I noticed that Kimi is able to jam on his own making his own little music and using both his hands to play as well as his leg stomping on the base - his co-ordination, I'd say is remarkable for a 2 year old.

Again, he tends to shy away and not 'perform' when I try to take a video. Here's an example of my cheeky little one.

Model Cyclist

Kimi loves his bicycle and enjoys cycling. I was so surprised he could cycle just going on the bike after a few tries!
My little model cyclist

Pls pardon the bad lighting as it was getting dark and Kimi was getting tired after all the cycling

Bento #7 - Beary Surprise!

Strawberries, kueh lapis, flower ham with bear peeping out and banana
Saw this flower ham tutorial and peeping bear at Amy's blog so it became a must do for me!

Cliffhanger?

I was shocked last week when I caught Kimi having a 'swinging good time' on the table edge. But it looked too cute not to be captured and remembered! :)

Bento #6 - Bunny & Bear

Pork floss inside the bear-shaped bread and ham inside the bunny-shaped sandwich

Bear-faced sandwich (floss) and bunny-faced sandwiches. Got this idea of making '3D' sandwiches from Amy.

Bento #5 - Roar Like A Lion

Aiyo, my lion looks more like a bear ya?

Saw what Amy did and thought it was sooo cute. But instead of using floss for mane, I made egg omelette.

Kimi Says, Two!

Kimi turns 2 today and how quickly! When he woke, he was warm and after a few hours, he was down with fever & flu ... aiyo, what a way to start your birthday ya? Anyhow, after a good nap and some medication, he was up and about and raring to go!

As it was rather late already, we decided to have early dinner at his favourite character's restuarant - Mickey Mouse Restaurant. I ordered pizza, chicken stew and seafood chowder. All of which he ate none - he only wanted the Mickey Mouse shaped plain bread. Anyhow, the food was terrible. I wouldn't go there again even if it was free. Pizza was not too bad, the stew was scary.

We then proceeded to WTC for Kimi's first ride on the cable car. We had intended to let him cut his birthday cake in the cable car but I couldn't get a small, character cake and didn't know where was the nearest Polar.

Kimi enjoyed himself thoroughly as there were some construction on Sentosa and he is into cranes and diggers now.

We had the cake cutting the next day with more pressies to be opened!

Kimi darling, may you be happy, healthy and keep God in your heart always!

Our day in pix & video :-

When Kimi woke and had his milk

On the way to dinner and he posed for me too!
No Mickey, Goofy also can!
Father and son
The food - chowder, stew
Mickey Mouse pizza - Kimi seems interested but din even take a bite!
He only ate the plain buns
Father & son shares a moment together in the cable car
Family pix - look my right eye still looks not too good
Love it when Kimi gives me a hug!
Yup! His first candy - fruit marshmellow! He loves it! Well, this is testimony that even if you kept them away from salt & sugar till 2, they still love the taste of sweetness! First bite and that's it! That confirms that every child IS different! Kimi obviously has my sweet tooth! :(
The next day - In fact his 4th cake blowing and he loves it!
Overly eager to blow out the candles

Thank you!

Thank you all my dear blog readers who have been sms-ing and leaving me messages. We are better! :)

Well, it had been a tough month for both Kimi and myself. He was sick the whole month, hopping from 1 illness to another. I, too, caught his bug and also never really recovered - guess due to zero rest?

Kimi finally was well enough to go back to school on Monday and I felt my energy picking up again... but well, guess God has more plans for me (I think He wanted me to rest MORE!).

I scratched my cornea on Tues and was totally out of action relying solely on hb for everything from Wed (Thank God, hb was home on Wed). I'm now in the midst of recovering. Only managed to see/read better today.

Well, there were quite a bit of changes in the past weeks and I promise to update here soonest when my eye feels more comfortable.

Thanks again, everyone! I'm so touched by all your concern! :)

Btw, Happy 2009!!

Bento #4 - Gingerbread Santas

Gingerbreadmen disguised as Santas & golden kiwi
Leftover from Xmas and Kimi loves these gingerbreadmen I made & iced! I'm so happy that he likes them - not easy for a small child to like gingerbread cos, really, gingerbread is an acquired taste!

Bento #3 - Pineapple & Gems

Kimi's favourite strawberries, pineapple rolls, gems biscuits

I've started packing breakfast for Kimi as I want him to get used to eating with his little friends. I'd usually include fruit &/or yogurt with brekkie. In fact, we try to let him have as much fruits as we can.

Recently, I stumbled on an exellent blog (shoppingmum) that was just perfect for me - Amy also packed 'snack' bentos for her kids and it also included fruits. Hence, the combo are good for me. In fact, her blog made me lazy! Haha! Cos, really, it is a reference book for me (lucky me, no need buy bento books) cos I only need to turn to her blog and I'll be smacked with ideas what to pack! She is sooo fabulous! I've learnt so much from her! Pls check out her blog.

Anyway, CNY is round the corner so I have all these goodies to pack - easy for me, happy for Kimi!
