Kimi Speaks .... I want a pet

These days, Kimi has been asking for a pet.  He also has been parroting me all the time - action and speech.  I tell you, it can be rather irritating.  The other day when Kimi asked for a pet again, this was what I told him.

Kimi : Mama, can I have a pet?
Me : Pet? We already have a pet.
Kimi : (excitedly) Huh? Where?
Me : Kimi, you go and stand in front of that mirror there. Go. (the large mirror in our hall). 

Kimi stood there and asked me where is the pet.

Me : You! My parrot. Our pet.
Me, hb & Kimi : *Burst out laughing!*

After 10mins and in our bedroom, Kimi came up to me and said.

Kimi : Mama, you have 2 parrots, me and papa!

Me : Lol!

A Tale of 2 Leaves

Last week I asked hb to drop me off at the supermarket to grab some groceries while he continued on to drop Kimi at school.

Unknown to me, Kimi had picked up a dried leaf from outside school grounds and told hb that it was for me.  My silly hb took the leaf and put it in the car and forgot to tell me!

Even sillier me, when I picked him from school and was putting him into the child seat, I saw a dried leaf and flung it out. :(

It was only when we were home that Kimi asked me about 'my leaf' which he picked for me.  I was surprised and it was then I realised that dried leaf was specially picked for me!  I was quite upset with hb for not telling me about it.

I guess to men, these are not important stuff.  But, to me, it is the most beautiful gesture your child just gave to me.

Anyway, today, he picked another and gave me.  When I asked him why did he give me the leaf.  He said, 'cos you are so cute'.  Ok.  So, I asked him, if he thought I was cute, why didn't he pick a flower instead.  Kimi replied, "Flowers are found in the garden, there is no garden in my school.  Next time, when I go to the garden, I will pick for you ok?"

Such a sweet gesture but now I need to imbue in him the virtue of not picking other people's flowers or public property! :)

Name Calling

Kimi has MANY way of calling/addressing us. And it's all dependent on his moods. I know Estelle has special name for her daddy so 'name-calling' I know is not uncommon! Haha! Here are what he calls us.

For me:

During his serious, needy ways, he will call me MAMA. But when he is playful or did something naughty, he will call me MUMMY. And when he feels cheeky &/or grown up, he will call me MOM.

As for hb, Kimi will call him PAPA. Playful time Kimi calls his PAPPY. (pronounced as puppy as in Spanish for Papa).

Rather creative for a 2+ year old (he started last year) don't you think? Keke! What and how do your child address you? :)

Kimi Speaks

I'm so upset that I have TONS of back-dated posts to do! Not that I was procrastinating, I was really just too tired after a long day to blog. I really missed blogging and yes, I will not stop and don't intend to do so for the moment.

Well, I will still post my back dated posts as they are important to me, to us even if it's old news for my readers and/or they may not be keen. I need to document (what's left that I can remember!) so that Kimi can read them when he's older.

Overheard:-

1)
Normally hb will prep Kimi and tell him he's going to work so that Kimi will not whine esp if he wakes and realises Papa has left for work.

Papa : Kimi, Papa will be going to work later.
Kimi : No, I will make a lot of money so you don't need to go to work. You and mama can stay at home.

Then, 30mins later, during shower, Kimi wanted to sit on his throne. After some time, I hurried him.
Me : Kimi, have you finished? Hurry up. It's very late already, Papa needs to go to work (he ONLY wanted Papa to wash his behind after his biz).

Kimi : I want to be late, I don't want hurry up. So Papa can be late and then he don't need to go to work already.
(Then he started smiling cheekily)

2)
We were watching an advertisement that has Fann and Chris having dinner and Chris whipped out a diamond ring.

Kimi : Mama, next time I make alot of money and buy a diamond for you!
Me : ok, thank you!
(we had only told him that a diamond is very expensive the night before, nothing else!)

3)
Finally after so many months and now that Kimi is more 'articulate' he told us the reason why he didn't want to go to school...

We saw Kimi's school bus and he quickly exclaimed that it was his school.

Kimi : Mama, the school, Kids.. Kids... where Teacher CT, what's the name?
Me : Oh, it's Kids Kingdom. What is the name of your school now?
Kimi : (shouting) DS!
Me : Kimi, do you like to go to school?
Kimi : YES!
Me : How about KK?
Kimi : No.
Me : Why not?
Kimi : Cos it's so boring!
Hmm, is that really the reason? Sometimes I can't really trust what he says cos Kimi has an over-imaginative mind.

4)
After school one day ...

Me : Kimi do you like your teachers? Whom do you like beta? Mrs R or Z laoshi?
Kimi : Mrs R!
Me : How abt Z laoshi?
Kimi : No, I don't like her. She is fierce like a Tiger! (then he gave me a roar and used his hand to imitate a paw-swing)

5)
One morning after Kimi climbed into our bed and plonked between us.

Kimi : Papa, I want to kiss you. (he then planted a kiss on papa's forehead) Kiss your forehead.
Papa : Thank you.
Kimi : Papa, where is my three-head?
Hb & Me : LOL!!!

Kimi Speaks

Many a times, I've been telling myself that, "oh, I need to get that down on paper/blog so that we can remember all these cute conversations". Kids really grow up too fast, too soon!

Some of these conversations date a few months back ... yup, should have done it soon so I'll remember the dates, but I didn't.. :(

1) I normally clip up my hair when we have our showers at night together. This happened during that period where it was SUPER warm and the air-con was not cooling down fast enough. So I left my clip on...

Kimi : Mama, take out, not nice!

Me : I was shocked! Where did he learn about what is nice & what is not? And he insisted till I removed the clip.

2) Kimi absolutely loves jelly and what he likes, he will guard fiercely. At lunch with our friend, Janice.

Janice : Kimi, can you share your jelly with Aunty Janice?

Kimi (turning to me) : Aunty Janice don't like jelly.

** He did the same to my mil later that night. Telling me that my mil didn't like it...so he needn't share ya? Haha!

3) I was on the way to pick hubby where we passed this stretch of empty land overgrown with trees. It had a slope so we can see the flat land area until after some distance.

Kimi : Mama, what is this?

Me : It's an empty land overgrown with trees, vegetation and grass. It's called a forested area.

Kimi : So many animals inside the jungle there! (He can get quite imaginative esp during pretend play)

Me : Oh is it? What animals are there inside?

As we approached the tappering of this higher land to a flat piece ... Kimi ignored my question and asked,

Kimi : Mama, what is this?

Me : It's a piece of empty land same as what you saw earlier. It's not a jungle, that's how it looks but we can't see it earlier because of the slope.

Kimi : No animals, animals in the zoo.

Me : *O* - surprised! It's amazing how quickly he can change his thoughts.

4)We were getting ready to go to the Park to feed the fishes when I thought I had better let Kimi have his fruit instead of after the outing. Reckon he may be too tired to eat later.

As I busied myself with peeling the apple, Kimi as usual stood on a stool and propped himself next to me. Just when I pushed the apple divider into the apple (it opens up like a flower which Kimi sees all the time),

Kimi exclaimed, "Wow!! Mama so clever!".

It's so nice to be praised sometimes especially from your son! :)

Grapes

These days Kimi is getting more and more demanding. Not sure cos I 'pamper' him too much or...?

Recently, I bought some really sweet & crunchy grapes that need no peeling of the skin cos eating with the skin on is not bitter nor leaves an awful aftertaste. So, I told hb let's not peel the grapes and offer it wholesale to Kimi. This was how the conversation went :-

Me to hb : Papa, no need to peel the grapes, just give it to him like that. (think Kimi heard our conversation)

Me & hb : Kimi, come have some grapes. Very nice, sweet sweet. Come, come try.

Kimi walked over, looked at the grapes and screamed : NOOOO! (pause a few sec) P-E-E-E-E-E-E-L !!!

Me & hb : *faint!* (burst out laughing cos never expected he could be so deamnding and even knew what PEEL was!)
