Blessed With A Castle

Hb came home this morning with this HUGE present for Kimi.  Actually, Kimi has been eyeing this Playmobil castle for the longest time and hb decided to get it for him during this trip to the US.  So he ordered it to be delivered to our sil, Julie's place in the US.

We were stunned when they wanted to pay for it and bless Kimi with the castle! :)

Thank you so much Uncle Peter and Aunty Julie for the castle, Kimi loves it and plays with it EVERYDAY!  This is the largest castle in Playmobil and we are amazed by its detailings, etc. Awesome toy!

Kimi who just woke and can't wait to show his thankfulness to Uncle Peter and Aunty Julie for the toy

Almost done! See how big that even Kimi can sit inside!

Hama Fun!

I just realised that I had forgotten to blog about these wonderful beads - Hama Beads.  These can be bought at Growing Fun.  We made this in January and Kimi had lots of fun with it.

You can use the stencil and follow the colour or just create your own.  Iron on it and it becomes a rigid display!  Excellent for training fine motor.

Surprise Present!

I was taken aback when I picked Kimi from school today. He told me excitedly that he had received a present from his teachers, Mrs R and Z Laoshi. As Mrs R wasn't there I couldn't ask what the present was for.

I suspect it's a little something in return for the ang-pow I gave them during CNY. Anyway, Kimi was over-the-top and was even happier when he found out that it was a walking/barking dog.

We have a similar one, only it is an elephant. :)

Thank you Mrs R and Z Laoshi!
Kimi posing with the pressie before opening it. I am so delighted that he was SO co-operative today with posing for the camera! Yay!! :)
See how excited he is?
Love at first sight!

Kimi can't wait to cuddle and shower the doggie with love! He said he wants to kiss and squeeze him! He named it "Doggie". Haha! How unconventional. Most of his favourite stuff animals have names.

First Skate Attempt

I think Kimi has a natural flair. :) Within a few seconds of putting on the skates, he was swinging his hands and moving his legs.

I've set it on Stage 1 which locks 1 wheel so he can walk in it. After a few tries at home, he asked to go downstairs. While downstaird, Kimi was a little frustrated maybe cos he can't move with the skates. He then complained it was very difficult and heavy.

So, I changed the skates to Stage 2 where the adjustment wheel rolls forward but not back. And again, he was still able to balance. I think with more, more and more practice, he will be able to do this with confidence! :)

** Sorry, pix are blurred and I don't know what happened to the video - it became upside down :(

New Skates & Diego

After Serene's place, we headed to Vivo as I wanted to get the skates and bike that was on sale for Kimi and also to pick up some dinner.

Couldn't get the bike as it was out of stock so just got the Fisher Price My First Skates and Go Diego Go Rainforest Rescue Mega Bloks for Kimi.  He was soooo happy!!

At this point of time, Diego is Kimi's favourite personality. Everything he does, he will ask whether Diego likes or does that too.  He said he wants to be like Diego and HE is Diego.  He wants to go South America and meet Diego and be an animal rescuer like him.  He wants to go to the Amazon River and rescue the biggest snake in the world, the Anaconda that is in trouble there.  He even said he wanted to learn Spanish so he can speak to Diego.

Somedays, he will suddenly jolt up and said, "There's an animal in trouble, I need to save him!"  Then he will run to pick up his mini laptop and open up to check (just like Diego) who is in trouble.  How cute!

So for now, I'm trying to get my hands on all things Diego. Since Diego also goes skating, Kimi, too wanted a pair of skates.  I can't wait to let him try the skates tomorrow!

Playmobil

When hb and I were small, we loved Playmobil! So, when hb saw this huge farm set in Germany, he knew he got to get it for Kimi. Maybe it's more for himself? Keke!

I still love this toy!! You can have so much fun with it and it's such a quality toy. Playmobil was out of Singapore's scene for a long time but it is making its way back now.

We did not let him have the whole set all at once. Hb built the larger parts with Kimi (yes! with Kimi, you'd be amazed how they can take instructions and work those little fingers with intricate parts meant for 4 year olds!) and let him play with those first. We intend to let slowly let him take a few out each time.

Kimi loves his barn house!! You can start with a small set. There are so many themes to choose!! Check this out!

Eager to start fixing everything NOW! This child simply has ZERO patience!

Beautiful toy - Oops, see Kimi's little hand stuffing the horse thru the window? Haha!

Budding Architect

Don't you think that is such a beautiful structure? Well, I do. See how Kimi co-ordinated the pitch roofs to its respectively colour? I'm seeing Kimi displaying more and more traits like these - attention to details and colour co-ordination.

He's quite a perfectionist like me. I worry about that cos I don't want him to BE like me. I'd rather he be more flexible than a stubborn old cow like me. :( But architects have to be meticulous ya? Lol!

Kimi's New Big Boy Bike

We bought a new bike for Kimi today cos he enjoys riding on Wayne's bike. So, we thought it was time to 'upgrade' since he could cycle. But, even the smallest seems a tad too high and he can't really reach the paddles. Think, he should be able to in a couple of months.

In the mean time, it's hb who is pushing him around. :)

Keyboard Fun

This is another toy which I got that was so cheap, only S$25 for this keyboard that didn't look like a toy. And that was what I liked as its key were real-like and if Kimi liked this, it would be an easy transition to the piano.

I'm still hoping that he will learn to play the piano so I can just lie back and enjoy the music. I love being serenaded!

But, deep in me, I know ultimately, it's really up to Kimi and what he wants and not what I want. But, it's still nice to hope and day-dream sometimes and I do not deny I am such a dreamer! Hee Hee!

Getting into the action immediately

Kimi is so happy that he is clapping for himself - My silly & cute child!

Looks professional?

Can fake it ya? Wuhaha!

Kimi's First Drum Set

Kimi has always been so keen on music and he simply loves playing the drums. We really wanted to get him his personal set but we were sure that those toy sets were really too 'amateurish' (pardon me for my pompousness) for him. Well, it's simply cos he has such strong strokes that it may just rip those toy drums that use a plastic film for the drum.

Hb bought this child starter kit from First Act(http://shop.firstact.com/PublicStore/product/FD523-Discovery-5pc-Drum-Set-Silver-wBlue-Stars,634,102.aspx) which even comes with a drum seat for Kimi and he really enjoys it.

But, he still wants to play on papa's set. That's what we thought might happen too... we must make him get used to it else papa will have to play on Kimi's set. Haha!

Father & Son unwrapping the box

Kimi trying out his personal drumsticks

Standing and strumming also can! Keke!

Kimi can't wait for the drums to be assembled and must start playing the Tom and Snare drums

The complete set ... oops the Tom is upside down... It's ok, papa will adjust later

Kimi trying out his drums - look how fast he is that my cam can't capture it nicely

Papa teaching Kimi to 'peddle' the base drums. He picked it up immediately! Except he likes to use his left leg rather than right...

Father & son having a noisy time together

Choo-choo!

This is what Kimi will say when he sees trains and it's also what he calls them.

I bought quite a bit of toys at the Taka Toy Fair and this is one of them. Always wanted to get a train set for Kimi but hb is hesistant as he feels he is still too young to appreciate it and will throw it around.

So, I decided to get a cheap set so even if Kimi were to throw it around, it's still alright. Yes, he was intially very curious and played with the train more than letting it go round the track but after a while, he was able to let it run its course. And I feel this is such a good buy, only S$7!

So maybe, Thomas The Train set will be next on the cards. What say you hon? Keke!

Kimi playing intensely with his new train set

He loves how the train goes 'around' this track

Kimi clapping happily when he could position the train to run round the track

A happy boy (and happy mummy too!) - the train occupied him almost the whole afternoon and he wanted me to sit next to him to watch and play the train with him.
